My Analysis of Rihanna - Disturbia (Goodwin's Idea)

The video I will deconstruct is 'Disturbia' by Rihanna.

I will be using concepts of this video:
-the lighting
-the simple but effective editing
-use of close ups of the performer. 

Throughout the video, we told how she feels and she expresses this through the lyrics and her body movement. 
 - Location is very dark
- Dark clothing and make up


It begins with the piano as the intro with a strong echo suit the title of the song 'Disturbia'. 
- The sound also matches the visuals and this is consistent throughout the video.
 

Although it is a pop song, club song. The video is quite dark and mysterious. 

Props used:
- chairs
-chains
-Bars 
- Costumes 

The clothing, she is wearing black throughout the video. 
- little lighting used 

This is an establishing shot so we can see Rihanna who is in the middle of the frame to establish she is the main artist in this video. 


The close of Rihanna's face whilst she behind the bars really emphasises the name of the single 'Disturbia'. 

This is a really effective shot which is something i would like to include in my music video(over layering of clips).
